Experiments

How are the experiments similar? Both conduct experiments on people to prove something even though people think differently; they are more likely to do as they are being told to do so. Both experiments tested prove that no matter how immoral the act is, people still follow power in a given situation. People continue to listen to the authority instead of what their personal beliefs are. The consequences of doing such experiments result in depression and mentally disturbed. This is why the Zimbardo’s experiment was ended ahead of time. It is definitely wrong and unethical to do such thing just to prove something in my opinion. I understand if people did something wrong they should be punished but punishing them, like the way in the videos is not right. Experiment was successful in few ways, it definitely proved how Germans were obligated and forced to do what they were told during the Nazis control. It also proves people are likely to follow order in any given situation. I cannot think of a similar experiment to conduct.

Low Wage Workers

Blog 1
1.      I haven’t started working yet.
2.      I think Ehrenreich said that most well off people are dependent on low wage workers because their life is easier due to low wage workers. Reason why, since Enrenreich was getting paid low wage and she also quoted that women are subject to low wage jobs, they  end up doing all the dirty work for them for example like cleaning the house as a maid or  working as a nanny so on.
3.      Definitely, people who work at Wendy’s or Wal-Mart have just as equal ability to enroll in colleges and work toward a different career. It really doesn’t have to be a university but they surely can earn enough money to pay for their classes at a community college just like NOVA.
